Kings Creek Kings Creek Preserve is a pretty stretch of river in a pristine tidal marsh. Located off the Choptank River, this 250 acre marsh is part of the 650 acre Choptank Wetlands. Its 2,500 acres are managed by the Department of Natural Resources & provide habitat for wintering waterfowl & native wildlife. Blackwater River Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge is located in Dorchester County. The refuge includes 27,000 acres made up of rich tidal marsh & freshwater ponds. It is a haven for the endangered Delmarva fox squirrel, the peregrine falcon, otter & numerous waterfowl. The refuge is the center of the greatest density of bald eagles in the eastern U.S. north of Florida.
